Assuming you have some mechanical aptitude you should be able to decipher your way through the instructions. I did find the instructions very confusing at times, with some steps towards the end saying you needed a greater number of nuts/bolts than what were left, which left us wondering if we would be missing any. After continuing on past those parts just hoping we would be okay, we were. There were a couple of parts that had paint chipped/rubbed off right out of the crate, obviously not packaged with enough wrap to protect them (and of course they're parts that have to be the most noticeable).
I do think the instructions should also provide a little more depth to the process of aligning the drive wheel and the follower wheel, had to turn to youtube to figure out how to get that part right so the blade would actually stay on.
Once all of the hard stuff was figured out the saw ran really well, cut really well and didn't leave me desiring any more, other than possibly an electric start.
Remember to watch out for your log supports once you're cutting ;)
