Post Pounder

The post pounder works well on hills and in rocky terrain. I enquired if it needed a thimble of nitrogen or a semi load but ran up against '???'. The least I could buy was 55 litres in a small bottle and this filled it many times and is still filling it. I soap tested the fill valve to see where it was leaking out, and found it leaked all over the pressure gauge valve assembly. This will need replacement in the future. Otherwise I am very happy with it.

Satisfaction Delayed

I bought it brand new and expected to be able to use it right away. That was my mistake for assuming. After several attempts to get it working I decided to call your help line to determine what was wrong. I was asked if I had charged the unit with Nitrogen. I read the manual several times to try and troubleshoot what might be wrong. It did mention a recharge procedure and a chart to show what the correct psi should be. I was informed that the unit is shipped without the nitrogen charge. This would have been good to when I unpacked it from the crate. A simple notice at the front of the manual or a card attached to the unit to notify the customer that the unit needs the be charged would go a long way towards customer satisfaction. Needing to buy a recharge canister for an additional $400 was upsetting to say the least. After a week of figuring out the problem and finding a supplier for the nitrogen, I finally got the unit to pound in a post. A very frustrating week. Now that I got it working I can say it is very effective. I’m hoping for many years of good service from it. Again, a simple card to notify the customer about the nitrogen charge would have gone a long way.

Buy one today

I’ve installed about 150 6” cedar fence posts with this in sand. AMAZING. Shipped fast and arrived undamaged. Will pay for itself very soon. Tiny bit of set up, you will want to figure out a source for nitrogen in case you are working in varied temps.

Post pounder

I am very happy with this post ponder, arrived fast, at first review looks to be of good quality, thick steel adapter plate, nice clean welds. I needed to buy the flat face couplers from Amazon as the hydraulic lines do not come with them(TMG let me know this when I was buying it). To date I have installed ten 6" posts 4ft deep and driven them in with no point just a flat post and this unit does it no problem, I am using this unit with a Kubota SVL 65. The very first time I used it it took a few attempts before it operated properly as the unit filled with hydraulic fluid from the skid steer.
