The front of a dealership is where you see the finished product.
The shop is where you see what the company is really made of.
Walk through Itec on a normal day and there is a good chance you will find something apart on a bench, a component being rebuilt, a technician troubleshooting a problem, or someone trying to track down the part that will get a customer's machine moving again.
Nothing fancy. Just good people doing good work.
Itec began in 1999 as a small logging equipment dealership in Thunder Bay. A lot has changed since those early days, but we’ve never lost what made Itec, Itec.
Over the years, we expanded our services, added new product lines and grew into a group of companies serving customers across construction, forestry, mining and energy. But growth, to us, was never about simply getting bigger. It was about being able to offer our customers more options.
New or used. Rebuilt or repaired. A new component or a more economical solution. We’ll help you understand the options. You decide how you want to spend your money.
That philosophy has shaped a lot of what we do.
Sometimes the answer is a new piece of equipment. Sometimes it means rebuilding an axle or transmission, repairing a hydraulic component, finding a used part, or simply helping someone figure out where to start.
It is also why we continue to add products like TMG. It gives our customers another choice and another way to find the right equipment for the job and their budget.
But if you asked us what we are most proud of after more than 25 years, it wouldn’t be the equipment in the yard or how much the company has grown. It would be our people.
The team that shows up every day, solves problems, takes the phone calls, works in the shop, helps our customers and has grown right alongside the company. Building that team has easily been one of our greatest accomplishments.
And as Itec grew, so did our responsibility to give back. The communities we serve are also the communities where our employees and customers live, raise their families, volunteer and build their lives. Supporting local organizations, events and causes isn’t something separate from our business. It is part of being a local business.
Maybe that is the best way to explain Itec. We sell equipment. We repair it. We rebuild it. We find parts and offer options. But behind all of that are people.
Our people. Our customers. Our communities. And after all these years, that is still what matters most.
