Before there was Itec, there was a forestry contractor who knew what it was like to be the customer.
In 1999, Ray Jarvinen took his experience as a logging contractor, his knowledge of heavy equipment, and his understanding of the industry and decided to create a different kind of dealership. One where customers were listened to, relationships mattered and people had options when deciding what worked best for their business.
That small logging equipment dealership in Thunder Bay was the beginning of Itec.
Over the next 25 years, the industries around us changed and so did the needs of our customers. Forestry will always be part of our roots, but as construction, mining and energy continued to grow throughout our region, we saw opportunities to expand our products and services along with them.
Today, Itec operates from Rosslyn and Timmins, offering equipment sales, parts, attachments, service and extensive in-house repair and rebuild capabilities. Whether a customer needs a new piece of equipment, a quality used option, a rebuilt component or simply wants to repair what they already own, we want them to have choices.
Because there isn't one right answer for every customer.
Sometimes new makes sense. Sometimes rebuilding what you already have is the better investment. Remanufactured or quality used may be exactly what you need. Our job is to explain the options and help you find a solution that works for your operation and your budget.
As those needs continued to grow, so did the Itec Group of Companies.
Final Drives Canada allowed us to expand our component expertise and reach customers across the country, while Itec Timmins brought equipment, parts and service support closer to customers throughout Northeastern Ontario. Most recently, Iron House has added even more options here at home, offering equipment rentals and sales supported by parts, service and repair.
And 25 years later, we're still looking for new ways to offer our customers more. Our recent addition as a TMG Industrial dealer for Northwestern Ontario is another example of that growth, giving our customers access to an even wider range of equipment and attachments for their businesses, jobsites and properties, backed by a local team they already know.
Each company, product line and service may offer something a little different, but they have all grown from the same idea: listen to what our customers need and find a way to provide it.
And while we are proud of how much the company has grown, our greatest accomplishment over the past 25 years isn't a building, a product line or a piece of equipment.
It's our team.
The people who have grown alongside the company, shared their knowledge, looked after our customers and helped shape Itec into what it is today. As our team and companies grew, so did our commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported us along the way.
Looking at our 25-year timeline today, we see a lot of milestones. New locations, new companies, new products and plenty of changes.
But more than anything, we see 25 years of listening, learning and growing alongside our customers.
That's our history in the making. And there is still a lot more to come.
